MEET DR. SHTEYN

Dr. Yekaterina Shteyn is a warm, caring, and positive individual who is deeply curious about the world. As an established optometrist, she brings these qualities to her practice every day. Dr. Shteyn began her educational journey at Brooklyn College, CUNY, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1996. Her interest in the human mind and behavior laid a strong foundation for her future studies. She then pursued her Doctor of Optometry degree at SUNY State College of Optometry, graduating in the top 10% of her class in 2000. During this time, she also achieved a Master’s degree in Vision Science from the same institution in 1999.

Following her graduation, Dr. Shteyn completed a residency program in vision therapy and low vision at Northport VA Hospital from 2000-2001. This experience further honed her skills and deepened her understanding of eye health and vision care. In her practice, Dr. Shteyn has developed a special interest in dry eye disease management and nutrition. She finds immense fulfillment in seeing her patients see clearly with their glasses and contacts. Furthermore, she takes pride in educating her patients about their eyes and promoting overall eye health. Outside of her practice, Dr. Shteyn is an active member of the Ocular Wellness & Nutrition Society (OWNS).

Outside of her medical pursuits, Dr. Shteyn is a dedicated yoga practitioner and a passionate advocate for nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. She enjoys spending time in her garden, nurturing plants as she nurtures her patients. In addition, she takes on the role of a ballet mom, supporting and cheering for her child’s passion for dance.

With her unique blend of medical expertise, personal warmth, and dedication to wellness, Dr. Yekaterina Shteyn provides comprehensive and compassionate eye care to her patients.

Dr.Yelizaveta Golubchik, OD

Dr. Lange describes herself as compassionate and social. She loves the field of optometry and interacting with a variety of different patients. Joining our office in October 2023, she brings eight years of valuable experience, and enjoys educating patients and delivering comprehensive eye exams that exceed their expectations.

Dr. Lange graduated SUNY College of Optometry in 2015, and completed an ocular disease residency at a private OD/OMD practice in NYC.

Interests: Exploring new places, traveling, spending time with friends and family and she attempted her first season of light gardening this past summer.

Dr. Yelizaveta (Lisa) Golubchik is a dedicated and compassionate optometrist who believes that great eye care is about more than seeing clearly. It is about helping patients see, look, and feel their best.

Dr. Golubchik earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University in 2015. With a patient-centered approach, she takes the time to understand each patient’s individual needs, lifestyle, and concerns. Her goal is to provide thorough, personalized eye care while creating an experience that feels comfortable and welcoming.

From comprehensive eye examinations and ocular health evaluations to contact lenses and glasses prescriptions, Dr. Golubchik is passionate about combining exceptional clinical care with an appreciation for fashion and aesthetics. She believes that eyewear is an extension of who you are and that the right pair of glasses can transform not only how you see, but how you feel.

Outside of optometry, Dr. Golubchik enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, fashion, and staying active.

Nathan proudly graduated from the Interboro Institute of Technology NYC. With over 3 decades of experience in eye care, Nathan has been an integral part of Cohen’s Fashion Optical since 2003.

Nathan is dedicated to helping people look and see their best. His customers appreciate he goes the extra mile, taking the time to treat them with understanding and kindness.

In his free time, Nathan loves to sail or spend quality time with family and his dog.

With over 3 decades of experience within the eye care industry, Jay brings knowledge and a passion for eye care to our team. Currently, he works as the store manager at Cohen’s Fashion Optical.
Jay attended Essex County College, where he specialized in Ophthalmic Dispensing.

The most rewarding aspect of his career has been identified as the strong rapport he maintains with his customers. Away from his work, playing soccer is one of his favorite things to do, along with spending time with his family.

Josie is known for her humorous personality and trustworthy nature. She has been serving in the role of an eyewear fashion consultant and assistant manager for 17 years, with her experience in the eye care industry extending to 18 years.

The most rewarding part of her work is being part of a supportive team of coworkers.
Away from her professional life, Josie enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, cooking, reading, and playing dominoes.

As a manager in the eyecare industry, Kibirrah has dedicated 15 years of her life to serving others. The past 2 years have seen her excel in her managerial role in Livingston, where her kindness and dedication shine through.

Outside of her professional life, Kibirrah finds great pleasure in engaging in DIY projects. This creative outlet allows her to express herself and provides a balance to her work. She also enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters.

Rhoda is an experienced Eyewear Fashion Consultant with a career spanning 36 years in the eye care industry. Rhoda has been serving in her current position for the last 7 years. She is known for her approachable personality, light-hearted nature, and reliable professional demeanor. It has always been fulfilling for Rhoda to assist customers in finding eyewear that not only improves their vision but also complements their personal style.

Outside of her professional life, Rhoda enjoys spending time with her family.

Florence has served as an Eyewear Fashion Consultant on our team for over a year, bringing to the role almost a decade of experience in the eyecare industry. They are best known for their patience and attention to detail.

Florence is passionate about going above and beyond to ensure that every person who walks through our doors feels supported and understood.

When not at work, Florence loves spending time with their partners, reading, and playing tabletop games.

Jamilteh brings an outgoing, energetic, and friendly personality as our optometric technician. Jamilteh has been in the optometric technician role for 2 years.

Jamilteh graduated from Caldwell University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2022. The most rewarding aspect of Jamilteh’s profession is the opportunity to assist patients on a daily basis.

Outside the professional realm, Jamilteh loves spending time with her baby.

Arifa is an optometric technician with over a year and a half of experience in eye care. She enjoys helping patients with their eye health needs while gaining valuable clinical experience as she works toward her goal of attending optometry school.

Arifa graduated from Rutgers University–Newark with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Fine Arts.

Outside of work, she enjoys classic Gothic literature, sewing, painting, and drawing portraits. She loves finding a balance between her interests in science, patient care, and creativity.

Yannely is an optometric technician with one year of experience in eye care. She is bubbly, detail-oriented, and always eager to learn. One of her favorite parts of the job is working alongside her team and contributing to a positive patient experience.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Outside of work, Yannely enjoys reading, going to the gym, visiting cafés, and spending time with friends.

Carla is an apprentice optician with 11 years of experience in eye care. Kind, patient, and thoughtful, she enjoys helping patients with their individual needs and making sure they feel comfortable and well cared for throughout their visit.

She holds an AAS in Vision Care Technology and a BS in Psychology.

Outside of work, Carla enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family.
